@lutchann:

FIRST:

You do not seem to have read Mr.Pfeifle's article at all, nor have you researched who Mr.Pfeifle is.

I have. Mr.Pfeifle is deeply involved with KDE (and has contributed much useful documentation to various Open Source Projects, such as Samba, CUPS, Linuxprinting.org and most recently FreeNX [http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=8139]).

So he has some more clue about the topic than you seem to to imply.

SECOND:

Your quoting of his opinion piece is extremely distorting. He is not at all venting a "thinly-veiled threat".

Since he is himself involved in FOSS projects, he is talking to his peers. This is also underlined by the fact, that the piece first appeared in his blog [http://www.kdedevelopers.org/blog/418], some days before OSviews mirrored it.

THIRD:

Mr.Pfeifle "needs a clue about how to work with the open-source world"? Maybe rather one Mr. lutchann needs a clue about how to work with Google [http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Kurt+Pfeifle%22].
