It's worth noting that the entire Ximian executive team is still there. Several have been extensively promoted, even, so that Ximian people are now responsible for the engineering efforts behind all of Novell's profitable products- David Patrick is in charge of "Linux, Open Source, and Platform Services", which includes the profitable Groupwise stuff and all Linux/Free Software projects (including SUSE) and Carlos Montero-Luque is VP- Technology for the group that includes Zenworks and their identity management stuff. (Notably, both of those guys have been in the Linux space for a couple of years before Ximian was acquired; I believe Seibt had been at suse something like 9 months when the acquisition talks started.) The vast majority of the engineering groups of both companies are still at Novell.* It is also worth noting that Seibt was purely in the sales organization at Novell, from day one after their acquisition- he had no formal management role in engineering, marketing, or project/product management, so... anyway, make of that what you will :)
