After applying optimization similar to what the Rust port did, ScanCode runs as fast or faster than the Rust port, while maintaining correctness, and attribution. So perhaps something good came out of the whole exercise? It's not clear whether these optimizations were applied by the LLM as part of the porting, or whether a human applied them to the Rust code afterwards.
