Firefox parental control integration

Parent article: California's Digital Age Assurance Act and Linux distributions

I can't find a good source on it from my phone, but fairly recently a new about: page was added to Firefox that displays when accessing a site that signals it is adult content[^0] while the current user account has parental controls enabled.[^1]

IIRC there was an accompanying help article that indicates the intent is to encourage local age assertion over the current remote assertion now done in the UK and other countries. It explicitly said that an admin would be able to bypass, but that is part of the parental responsibility to setup the computer appropriately.

[^0]: Which sites like gambling and porn already signal in a meta tag for SEO reasons and existing safe-search style filtering.
[^1]: I can't remember if it was enabled only on Windows so far, or still a work in progress thst will be fully enabled later.
