And vice versa, none of these distros are being developed or funded by languages. In many cases, there's people working on both a distribution and a programming language. Debian is an all-volunteer distribution that doesn't have money to really throw at other projects, and if they did, they'd probably encourage you donate to those other projects directly.

If Debian picked up its toys and went home, a vast number of people and companies who never did work for or donated money to Debian would be left high and dry. If you want to make it antagonistic, ecosystems who want to continue using Debian for their servers should start paying for an OS license.

Distros don't have that much leverage, though. At this point, a vendor can probably switch to another distro reasonably quickly.

There are several options to choose from.
