The statement by the Fedora Council is an excellent example of handling delicate issues:
- A sincere apology
- Acknowledgement of how the person affected by the earlier decision (by another committee) feels
- Adjustment of the decision (in this case reversal) after an independent investigation
- Analysis of the process which led to the earlier disaster
- Lessons learned on where to improve the process
- Initiating an improvement of the process
