Ubuntu 25.04 released [LWN.net]

Version 25.04 ("Plucky Puffin") of the Ubuntu Linux distribution has been released. This release includes Linux 6.14, GNOME 48, APT 3.0, and introduces a Arm64 desktop ISO to install Ubuntu Desktop on Arm64 systems. This is an interim release, with support through January 2026. The page at https://kubuntu.org/ currently mentions only 24.04, but clicking on the Download link takes you to a page for 25.04.

The upgrade path for the latest Ubuntu 25.04 release has been pulled offline, as it has resulted in Kubuntu users seeing a broken desktop.
