OpenWrt 24.10.0 released [LWN.net]

Version 24.10.0 of the OpenWrt router-oriented distribution has been released. Changes include an update to the 6.6 kernel, use of access control lists on larger systems, multipath TCP support, better WiFi6 support, the beginning of WiFi7 support, and more.

This is the first stable release to support the new OpenWrt One the first router built with your right to repair and software freedom in mind. This router was designed by some of the OpenWrt developers. Purchasing one results in a US$10 donation going to the OpenWrt earmarked fund at SFC.

Got one, came with 24.10-rc2 preinstalled on the nand. Upgraded to the stable releases. Butter smooth.

OpenWRT seems quite under-rated

OpenWRT does a great job of providing high functionality on a wide range of resource constrained devices. It appears to have a high emphasis on secure defaults and I’m not aware of any major breaches in the many years that I’ve been using it.
