*nothing* in _any_ F/OSS license grants the user free reign to use anyone's trademarks. Indeed, the opposite is usually explicitly the case [0]

There are reasonable arguments about how Automattic's actions are "bad" but coming at this from an "It's open source therefore we are owed X[1]" is _not_ one of them.
