LinuxPOS Version 1.0 Released for Beta Testing

Linux Canada Inc. wishes to announce that the beta version of
LinuxPOS 1.0 is now available for evaluation.  LinuxPOS is an exciting
new point of sale application written in Tcl/Tk. If you require the
power,stability and connectivity of Linux, the graphical user
interface inherent in Tck/Tk, a dynamite point of sale application and
full source code for peace of mind and/or personal customizations --- 
then LinuxPOS is for you.  

Some of LinuxPOS's features include:
        - text files designed to allow easy language conversion
        - import and export programs created to simplify integration
          to back-end packages
        - supports both Qwerty keyboards and programmable POS keyboards
        - supports scanners, scales and printers
        - a full array of point of sale functions
        - complete set of documentation including Getting Started,
          User's Guide and Tutorial

Some of the point of sale functions supported by LinuxPOS are:
        - security logins and override functions
        - multiple tenders
        - ability to void lines, tenders, discounts and transactions
        - at/for and quantity pricing
        - promotion pricing by date, time and/or day mask
        - mix/match pricing
        - regular and shelf prices where shelf prices include deposit
          and/or taxes
        - lookup windows for items, customers, ...
        - suspend and resume transactions
        - tax exemptions
        - discounts by date, time and day mask 
        - returns, pay-outs and payments on account
        - price verification
        - price change
        - reprint receipt
        - till readings and ring-offs

To run the beta evaluation copy you will need Linux loaded and have
X-windows running.  Please be aware that all testing has been done
