"sanecgi" is a web-based scanner interface. It works with
any scanner that supports the SANE scanner interface library.
Images can be scanned in GIF, JPEG or PNG format, in color,
in grayscale or as line art, among other useful options.
Once the image is right, the user can simply save it with
a web browser.

Those who heard of my "mtekcgi" application were quick to point
out that a SANE version would be useful with many scanners, and
on many operating systems. Since this is much more general than my 
earlier "mtekcgi" program, I have retired that package after 
just a day. Sniff!

Thanks to the SANE authors for providing the "scanimage"
program as a back end.
