First three hours, we discussed briefly about necessary HW/SW components required to build a small Beowulf (or Beocup?). We also had live demonstration by building 2 nodes cluster with Redhat and MPI running within less than 2 hours. In the afternoon, we had an invited speaker, Dr. Ewing Lusk, from Argonne National Laboratory who explained how to program a cluster using MPI. There are about 30 participants mostly the scientists, and computer science/engineer researchers from various leading institutions in Thailand. We got a very good respond from the audiences. This tutorial is a first step to promote the wide spread use of beowulf cluster in Thailand. There are at least one another similar workshop scheduled in October. May be more even before that.
