X-Files is a graphical file management program for Unix/X-Window 
environment. It supports browsing and file operations also for FTP, 
zip-, tar-, compressed tar-, lharc-, rar- and rpm-packages.

This announcement is meant to let you folks know that we have released
v2.00 alpha 1 for your testing.  Biggest improvement is FTP-support. 
See <site>/CHANGES.v200a1  for more info about the new features (there
are a lot of them).  See also <site>/TODO.v200a1  for missing features 
and known bugs.

This release requires you to have Tcl/Tk 8.0 or higher. (Not tested
with 8.1, so feedback on that is welcomed!)

Alpha 1 here means that this release does not meet our quality 
standards.  There are no fatal bugs.  There can be, however, more
error messages and things behaving oddly.  Please report them back 
to us!
