This new site encourages Linux developers and users to write press
releases for free software. Sounds like a waste of time? Not really if
you think about it. Just because you're not directly making money doesn't
make a release unnewsworthy. This site has info about how and when to go
about writing a press release, and what to do with it once you've written
it.
In particular it'd be cool to get wide publication of the releases of
Linux 2.2 and Gimp 1.0. These are mature, stable products deserving of
widespread coverage. Given that the press have been quite partial to free
software stories lately, it should be quite easy to make these releases
widely known.
