-:::: Announcing version 0, public revision 1 of IRCIT ::::-
                     IRC for the Information Terrorists

IRCIT is a new and exciting IRC client aimed at narrow base of
advanced users. It supports multitude of new things, but at the
same time tries to retain the existing heritage of IRC. IRCIT can
easily compete with major players in its class.
It currently runs on Linux-based systems and will not compile
         without modifications by non-GNUC-compatible compilers.

Please notice this is _binary_ distribution only, if you aren't
comfortable with running pre-compiled binaries, wait for some
other future release, maybe next one. This software is somewhere
between alpha-nearly-beta with all the negative things associated
         with such quality.

Bellow is an LSM entry for IRCIT with a snapshot of features
that should immediately appeal to you.

Title: IRCIT, Internet Relay Chat client
Version: 0.1
Entered-date: 25MAR98
Description: IRCIT (IRC for the Information Terrorists) is a non-
trivial, full-featured, text-based IRC client written
primarily for Linux users with console access. It fea-
tures integrated GUI system (menu system, scrolling lists
with context-sensitive menus, forms, colors, color-editor,
status-lines...). The basic IRC protocol is mosltly
                implemented plus many implementation-specific details.
There is also built-in party-line, accessible via telnet
with some basic commands. With IRCIT you can access any
text-based server from within IRCIT and at the same time
benefit from the editting capabilities and history
support. IRCIT can be detached from your terminal and
run in the background with the ability to resume
your session later. Plus many more interesting
                details.
