                    Gmp3 0.02a - A Front-end to mpg123

  I'd like to announce the first public alpha release of gmp3, a GPL'd, GTK
based, front-end to mpg123.  As of version 0.02a, gmp3 sports the following
features:

- - Playlist support including catagorized song groups (albumns).
- - All your regular features including shuffle, repeat one/all, etc. with
  correct shuffle handling (no often-repeated songs).
- - Optional automatic filename parsing for song titles.
- - Built in mixer panel, so you don't need to pop up another program
  just to crank up the bass. :)
- - Reduce window mode which makes a small player even smaller.
- - With patches provided, the lagging stop and pause problems found in
  other front-ends do not occur with gmp3.
- - High portability.  Because gmp3 uses mpg123 for sound output, gmp3 should
  be relatively easy to port to other platforms where GTK is available.

Future features will likely include a modular interface design which will
allow easy customization of the main control panel.  As well, with
Rasterman's work on GTK, theme support could make this quite flexible.
