I would   like to announce release   0.9.9 of bib-search,  a  tool for
working with bibtex files. It  provides a convenient command line with
history and contextual completion.

New features :

  - use of several files simultaneously is now possible.
  - simple scripting capabilities
  - global and per user configuration files, allowing lots of 
    customizations.
  - ...

bib-search  is not intended to   act  as a  filter,  like BibTool  for
example, but rather to help sharing bibtex databases. Users can search
their own bibtex  files simultaneously  with common repositories  (for
example the  available books  in  a  given place)  or  other  people's
bibfiles, in   a transparent manner.   This make  it  also possible to
virtually add comments (or whatever you want !) to existing entries in
other   files,  by using   the  `crossref'  field.   These  additional
informations can then be shared or kept private.

Works    has still  to   be  done  to  make   it   more efficient  and
useful. Please send me any comments, bug reports or suggestions.

bib-search  has been written in  Perl. You  can find more informations
