Subject: RedHat kickstart over PLIP - HOWTO and boot disk

This patch and howto are ideal for when you have to install RedHat on
multiple machines with predefined configurations. The HOWTO explains how
to do a promptless install over PLIP; and the patch allows the RedHat
boot disk to be modified to work easily over PLIP with some new powerful
options.

FROM THE HOWTO:

This document describes how to use kickstart over PLIP
- ------------------------------------------------------
(i.e. RedHat install over a parallel port [or Laplink] cable)

Background:
- -----------

Redhat contains a kickstart mode on its bootdisk. This mode allows you
to define the desired setup for your new computer in a kickstart config
file (or kickstart file) that sits on a remote machine. After the redhat
boot disk boots (and you type in `linux ks=bootp'), it gets the
computer's desired IP, broadcast address etc from a bootp server accross
the network, then downloads the kickstart file. The kickstart file
contains the necessary info on partitioning the new computers harddrive
as well as what packages to install etc.

This may work well if the computer is using a standard eth0 device and
sits on a proper LAN with DNS and bootp, however...
