I have just release a small package called netaudio. You can pick it
from

ftp://ftp.solucorp.qc.ca/pub/netaudio/

You will find there

	-source
	-source in RPM format
-binary RPMs tested on RedHat 4.2
-A README explaining a bit how it works

This package should work nicely on any linux distribution working with
libc version 5. There is a glitch to make it work on glibc based
distribution (RedHat 5). I am working on that

Here is a short intro.

If you run either an X terminal, or often run application on linux server
and display on your "less powerful" linux workstation, then netaudio might
be useful for you. Without recompiling a single program, you will be able
to

-access your floppy from the server with normal commands

		tar tvf /dev/fd0

-access your sound cards (mixer, dsp, audio) with most
	 audio programs, unmodified.

-Play CD on your CDrom and control that from application
	 running on the server

For linux based X terminal users, it is a nice (and the only one) solution
to give them access to their peripherals.

It works with a small preloaded share object. So installation is simple.
Nothing to recompile, no special kernel module.

Distributed under the GPL license!

Comments appreciated!
