Unbelievable. I just purchased a toshiba laptop, and not only are you forced to purchase M$ crap, but YOU CAN'T REPARTITION THE HARD DRIVE!!!!
They don't ship a retail copy of XP$ but a debilitated "OEM$" version that repartitions your hard drive into a single 40GB partition with XP$ on it.
So you can't even install linux without spending $75 to purchase PartitionMagic and do it!!
Now that's infringement of my rights! That is f&^$#(^% illegal!
This is a deliberate act to prevent the install of any other competing OS!
I felt it my duty to call Toshiba and talk with 2 managers about the issue. I told them to send me a retail copy of XP (That "OEM" did not have the advertiseed features of Retail XP), or send me a partitioning utility. Nada. Then I asked them how it felt to be a microsoft stooge, and bow down and be slaves to the M$ empire. No opinion. Nada.
Where do I go from here? State Attorney General's office? I'm taking this one to my congressman. Let me know what legal action I can take.
