CMP MEDIA'S EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE BOSTON CO-LOCATES WITH THE
EMBEDDED SECURITY SEMINAR

Embedded Systems Conference Boston Dedicated To Processor-based
Technology and Development, Embedded Security Seminar Addresses Design
for Safeguarding Information

Boston-July 19, 2004-CMP Media today announced the technical program for
the 13th annual Embedded Systems Conference Boston
(www.esconline.com/boston/), held September 13-16, 2004, at the Hynes
Convention Center. More than 3,000 design engineers and managers are
expected to attend for the rich technical design classes and important
business discussions about developing intelligent systems that
incorporate processor-based technology. Among the 120 leading hardware
and software providers that will showcase innovative, breakthrough
technology and products are Green Hills Software, Mentor Graphics,
Motorola, and Xilinx.

As security concerns becoming increasingly pervasive and unavoidable
especially in the information technology and design engineering realm,
CMP Media is simultaneously offering the Embedded Security Seminar,
September 13-15 at the Hynes Convention Center., the first in a fall
series of three design seminars. The co-located Embedded Security
Seminar is a three-day technical program that will focus on encryption,
standards firewalls, protecting IP and security for wireless, and
Internet protocol. The headline sponsors for the seminar are LynuxWorks
and Atmel.

"Embedded design is one of the most dynamic spaces in the high-tech
industry today," said Lindsey Vereen, conference director. "As
networked embedded applications continue to increase, new challenges are
emerging focused on critical issues such as security. With the addition
of the Embedded Security Seminar, we'll not only cover the materials,
technique, and design of embedded systems, but also the mechanics of
engineering secure networked systems."

The program will feature a dynamic keynote speaker, 78 classes and
tutorials, two panel discussions on the trend toward switch fabrics and
design efficiency, and three shop talk sessions.

Event Keynote
On Tuesday, September 14, 10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Dan Saks, writer for
Embedded Systems Programming and C++ Guru who served for many years on
the International C++ standard committee, will address "Keeping Your Job
Onshore," how software developers can make themselves more valuable in
the marketplace amid the trend toward off-shoring.

Learn the Latest Design Methods
The Embedded Systems Conference Boston's 70+ conference sessions will
delve into important design topics, including UML, TCP/IP networking,
Linux/Open Source, real-time development and high availability design.
These sessions focus on delivering the technical insight necessary to
make embedded system designs stronger, faster, and more reliable. Each
class and tutorial provides practical answers to the toughest questions,
and teaches skills and techniques that can be implemented immediately.
