leading positions in all markets of significance to their
operations. Scribona also has the broadest product and service concept in
the industry and can provide complete solutions comprising everything from

Sales Director of IBM Norway, Mr. Bjørn Roksvold says: "Trustix being one
of IBM's most important Linux partners internationally. Therefore it is
important for us that their solutions are made available to the Norwegian
Partners though our largest distributor in the Nordic. We believe that this

market".
"The Trustix Linux Solutions fit perfectly with our Linux strategy, a
solution that enables all our customers to benefit from the advantages of
Linux.".

of most resellers' product portfolios".
==> CUSTOMER FOCUS: 7-ELEVEN
During the Linux World Expo in August, Trustix, 7-Eleven and IBM unveiled
7-Eleven as a reference customer for Trustix and IBM.
The 7-Eleven branch of Scandinavia is managed through a computer center
located in Oslo, Norway and 7-Eleven head on in the discovery of cost
saving and innovative solutions from Trustix and IBM.
The Trustix Mail Server is currently running on an IBM xSeries 360 to scan
and filter incoming e-mails before distributing these internally to all
7-Eleven staff attached to this computer center.
"We had long recognized the major cost saving potential of adopting Linux
within the 7-Eleven enterprise; introducing Trustix Linux Solutions in our
IT infrastructure on the IBM platform confirms this. Our good experience so
far means that we will spend considerably more time working with Linux in
the future." said Terje Eriksen, head of IT department, 7-Eleven. "Trustix
offered a wide range of Linux infrastructure solutions that combined
supreme ease of use and long-term extensibility, with the reliability of
the IBM eServer xSeries platform".
"7-Eleven's gratifying experience with the Trustix Linux Solution suite is
typical of what we hear from our customers worldwide," noted Havard Wollan,
CEO of Trustix, Inc. "We are excited by 7-Eleven's results, and won't be
surprised to learn that their Cost of Ownership savings exceed their
highest expectations."

==> TRUSTIX ON LINUX WORLD, AUGUST 2002
Trustix attended the LinuxWorld conference in San Francisco on the 13th -
16th of August this year. As part of IBM's Linux Village, Trustix was hand
picked to join as a select IBM ISV partner and the interest and noise
generated on the conference was vast.

are available on the Trustix website: http://www.trustix.com/info/press/
) and was covered by major online and printed news papers around the
globe. Amongst others: CBS MarketWatch, DallasNews.com, Finance Canada,

==> TRUSTIX: IBM BP LEADER FOR LINUX
Trustix was, during the Linux World Conference, appointed as an IBM
Business Partner Leader for Linux.
This will drive the momentum Trustix has with IBM through joint marketing
and press events in the US, EMEA and also APAC when Trustix and IBM moves
into that area.
The intention of the Business Partner Leader for Linux program is stated as
follows:
"IBM Sales force linkage, participation in key events, sales accelerators
and co-marketing incentives are among the benefits you can receive as
Business Partner Leaders for Linux. Recognition is a reward in itself, but
as an IBM Business Partner Leader for Linux, the rewards can be even
greater, and can help your business reach new heights".

==> TRUSTIX AT "IT-TINGET"
Trustix is in the process of certifying the Trustix Firewall under the
Common Criteria certification. We are therefor invited to speak at
IT-Tinget in Lillehammer on the 26th of September. Phd Torstein Heggebø,
Trustix VP Technology Development will talk about the process of the
certification.
Trustix will also be present with a booth at the show, come see us
there. IT-Tinget is sponsored and held by Norwegian ErgoGroup.
==> LINUX IN PUBLIC SECTOR
A recently published story, by the N.Y. Times, talks about various Linux
success stories within government and public sector areas around the
globe.
The article is interesting with regards to Trustix, as it outlines the IBM
and Trustix strategy of reducing Total Cost of Ownership through the use of
open source software and commercial / closed source software to create
end-user solutions.
This extract from the article outlines Germany's initiative to use Open
Source software:
"In Germany, for example, the lower house of Parliament adopted a
resolution last November declaring that the government should use open
source software "whenever doing so will reduce costs." The resolution also
cited as advantages "stability" and "security." Microsoft's Windows
operating system is often criticized for crashing too often and for being
susceptible to computer viruses and security breaches."
It is clear that IBM is focusing on public sector, government customer wins
and reference cases in all geographic territories. Trustix being selected
as one of the few IBM Linux ISVs (see Business Partner Leader for Linux
article earlier in this issue) is leveraging on this momentum IBM is
creating by jointly marketing and selling solutions for Public Sector and
SMEs.
The German case, I.B.M. says, is part of an emerging pattern. "There's not
a large government in the world we're not talking to"
- Steven Solazzo, general manager of IBM's Linux business (NY Times)
