This is the first of three mailings that are being sent out tonight, in
preparation for the kernel summit. This note, containing the agenda for
the summit, as well as the attendee list, will be sent to the attendees
as well as ksummit-2004 discuss list. The 3rd mailing will only be
sent to the invited attendees of the Summit, and will contain logistical
information for the attendees.

The general format for most of the 30-minute sessions will a 5-10 minute
kickoff presentation either given (or moderated by) the session chair,
followed by 20-25 minutes of discussion. The goal is to keep things as
interactive as possible.

Each of the session chairs has been given a list of people that the
program committee felt should be consulted while preparing the kickoff
presentation. If you feel that there is something important that you
think should be included, however, please feel free to contact the
relevant session chair, and/or the ksummit-2004-discuss mailing list
with your input.

Jonathan Corbet has graciously agreed to be the BOF coordinator. So if
you have any ideas for BOF's at the Kernel Summit, please drop a note to
corbet@lwn.net. Of course, BOF's can also be scheduled on-site.

One place which might spawn BOF's will be the 5 minute speed talks,
where people will be encouraged to come up with quick descriptions of
things which they are interested in doing for Linux 2.7. That section
will be totally free-form, but knowing how talkative people are, I feel
confident that we'll have no problem finding dozen or so people wanting
to give quickie ideas of what it is they want to do. Followup
conversations in more depth can take place in a BOF, or subsequently
during the all-important "hallway track" and "restaurant/bar track"
during the rest of the week.

Enjoy!
