Hi,
The beta release of Progeny Debian 2.0 Developer Edition is now available.
http://archive.progeny.com/progeny/linux/iso-i386/20040710/
There are three images: pd2de-[1,2,3].iso. The first two images will
likely be needed for standard installs; the third contains source code.
This version of Progeny Debian was built using the new Anaconda for
Debian, based on Anaconda from Fedora Core 2, and contains many updates
to components from Debian's current testing distribution ("sarge").
ABOUT PROGENY DEBIAN
This robust Debian developer distribution was created through Progeny's
Componentized Linux (CL) architecture. CL is a new way of constructing Linux
distributions, built bottom-up as a set of interchangeable parts that
closely track their counterpart "upstream" open-source projects, rather than
top-down as a monolithic, difficult-to-change whole. Componentized Linux
provides both the infrastructure for creating fully functional components
(feature-level collections of packages) and the mechanism for creating
complete distributions from these various components. CL has attracted a
growing community of developers
(http://platform.progeny.com/componentized/index.html) and several reference
implementations are in use worldwide. Progeny Componentized Linux is based
on Debian sarge.
Progeny Debian 2.0 Developer Edition 2.0 continues the tradition established
by Progeny Debian 1.0 of providing an outstanding development platform and
tools that enhance developer productivity and Debian functionality.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
