Preview on kNX Client and FreeNX Server for LinuxTag Visitors (KDE.News)
[Posted June 28, 2004 by ris]
KDE.News reports that a team
of KDE and Knoppix hackers are showing two programs at LinuxTag. The
FreeNX Server and kNX Client are not officially released yet, but several
presentations have shown a well working preview of the KDE version for the
speed boosting NX Terminal Server technology, developed by NoMachine.com.

Great software
But has anyone managed to get the GPL'ed Version (i tried the .deb packages ) to resume sessions? I saw the presentation on the LINUXTAG and it all looked promising. My 1st experiments also were very promising: not more than 30k-40k were used by a session, in direct comparison to VNC which used a max of 1300kb...
Just need to get that re-attachment feature to work ;)
Greetings

Yes I have. Once it is released, it will work for you too. Please stay
patient, it takes a few more weeks.
If you cant wait to use session re-connection, why dont you start playing
with the commercial/proprietary NX Server from NoMachine.com in the
meanwhile? You can test it at no cost for 30 days. And its source is 95%
(my guess) the same as the GPL'd part. The GPL'd part has the same speed
as the commercial/proprietary version -- NoMachine dont issue different
libraries for OSS and their business product.
