Book Review: Postfix: The Definitive Guide (Linux Journal)
[Posted June 25, 2004 by ris]
Linux Journal reviews the
bookPostfix: The Definitive Guide. "Postfix: The
Definitive Guide digs a little deeper into the hows and whys. I like
that; I've never been much good at turning the crank on rote procedures.
By explaining how Postfix's features reflect its architecture and how they
relate to real world needs, debugging configurations and extending Postfix
with third-party virus scanners and spam filter is a lot easier."

I have bought this book and found it quite useful - it helped me get more out of all the cool features in postfix.

Jeffrey L Taylor may be a 30 year veteran of computing, but I'm pretty
sure he's not a 30 year veteran of technical book reviewing.
I'm probably biased; I've spent many years reading Rob Slade's reviews as
carried at RISKS Digest, but this book
review didn't do much for me at all. I don't, actually, blame the
reviewer; clearly the review needed editing, and just as clearly, LJ isn't
bothering these days. Shame, really...
I guess it's off to Borders for a cuppa, and read.
