When fetchmail is used simply to grab all the mail from the maildrop
and hand it over to sendmail, then in my experience it works fine --
although it's years since I've used it. As other have commented, it's,
er, "security challenged", suffers from the "bells & whistles" effect,
etc. So, it's probably best to give it the simple task of FETCHING the
MAIL from a remote server and leave all the hard stuff to sendmail.
