Red Hat is due to report its quarterly results on June 17, but has sent out a press release "previewing" some of the numbers. It seems the company sold 98,000 RHEL subscriptions over the quarter, and is reporting a net income of over $10 million.

They are probably trying to head off a panic; evidently there were rumors that the CFO left because the numbers would be bad, and it seems that this is not so.

I figure the same thing. With the CFO leaving and RH stock dropping, they probably felt it necessary to dispel some rumors.
