BEAVERTON, Ore., June 8 - The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global

"Bill is the ideal person to take our message to members, Linux users,
press and analysts to accelerate the adoption of Linux in the enterprise,"
said Stuart Cohen, CEO of OSDL. "As the center of gravity for Linux, we
have an obligation to make sure that we communicate effectively with key
stakeholders in the industry. Bill knows how to lead this vital effort."
Weinberg brings more than 17 years of embedded and open systems experience
to his role as Open Source Architecture Specialist at OSDL. Previously,
Weinberg was a founding team member at MontaVista Software, where he helped
establish Linux as a platform for next-generation intelligent embedded
device development. Weinberg's career has also included roles at Lynx
Real-Time Systems, Acer Computer, and Microtec Research.
"OSDL drives many of the most important initiatives today in Linux and
attracts leading companies around the world as members," said William
Weinberg. "Over the past year, the Lab has established itself as an ideal
bully pulpit for spreading the word to Lab members, Linux users and Linux
developers. In my new role as evangelist for Linux and the Lab's programs,
I look forward to fostering Open Source Linux adoption and to furthering
OSDL's position in the community."
Weinberg is well known in the industry for his writing and speaking on
topics that include real-time computing, application porting and migration
to Linux, Open Source licensing, Linux adoption in international markets,
