I have a vague recollection that some of the people on the list are employed by RedHat and I know for sure that Arjan van de Ven is. I'm inclined to take this as good news as it likely implies that at least these two distributions will remain largely "kernel compatible", unlike SuSE which, at last count, had hundreds of patches to the 2.6 kernel.
