There are EU & US torrents (to try and cut down on traffic bouncing across the atlantic). There were supposed to be AUS torrents too but not heard about them.

The full set of torrent URLs that I know about are:-

AMERICA TORRENT: Duke University, North Carolina, USA

http://torrent.linux.duke.edu/tettnang-i386-DVD.torrent

http://torrent.linux.duke.edu/tettnang-x86_64-DVD.torrent

EUROPE TORRENT: Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Czech Republic

[Cut and paste from Jakub's anounce yesterday]

Many of the mirrors have also put up BT clients into thise set of torrents so that there are seeders available for the startup. As ever please leave your client running after the download to give other people a push.

Please use only the main torrent (torrent.dulug.duke.edu). Given all the crazy routing on the Internet, using the other ones is likely to just increase transatlantic traffic, and splitting the download clients across different torrents will decrease the download speed for individuals.

I would gladly (actually prefer) to use bittorent - BUT (and its a big BUT) - I can find no BT clients that supports bandwidth limiting of my download (only of upload) !

This means that unless I implement trafic control (and that takes time I don't have) everything else on my internet line, will be affected while I download a 4gb DVD iso :(

For this reason I'm forced to use FTP mirrors - and am seriously considering looking into the python code of btdownloadheadless.py and see if it isn't simple to apply the code used for upload-limiting, on the download rate too. But seeing as no one has done this, it probably isn't :(
