The Gnu Compiler Collection, Version 3.4The Gnu Compiler Collection, Version 3.4Posted Apr 29, 2004 4:05 UTC (Thu) by ncm (subscriber, #165)Parent article: The Gnu Compiler Collection, Version 3.4 Two immediate remarks: First, programs and libraries that do a lot of pointer casting will probably need to add "-fno-strict-aliasing" to their CFLAGS settings, or suffer mysterious bugs. Second, the iostreams in the new libstdc++ are enormously faster than in previous releases, thanks largely to an enormous amount of work by Paolo Carlini, Petur Runolfsson, and Jerry Quinn.
