Hi all,

After much faffing about, I am pleased to announce the release of
libsndfile-1.0.0.

    http://www.zip.com.au/~erikd/libsndfile/

Libsndfile is a library for reading and writing a large number of different
audio file formats and encodings through one standard interface. The library
abstracts away all the complexities of sound file headers and provides the
application programmer with and eas method of obtaining the audio data in the
format they want it in. All conversions are performed on the fly by the
library.

This release has a few minor API changes and modifications in behaviour to
the last release in the 0.0.X series. In addition, since people are now
using libsndfile in multitrack disk recorder applications, effort has been
made to make libsndfile as efficient as possible.

Cheers,
Erik
