This bug was fixed in the official distribution of FAM 2.6.8

A patch for older versions of FAM is available

Please note that while this bug allows unprivileged users to
discover the names of files in root's group (or the group the
FAM daemon was invoked as), it does not allow users to read or
modify these files.
