I still do think this law won't change anything - most of the applications are uninstallable anyway and their license already contained paragraphs about the ads.

Utah's anti-spyware law Posted Apr 2, 2004 20:53 UTC (Fri) by farnz (guest, #17727) [Link] You've never had experience of some of the nastier bits of Windows spyware; several products install something called "Cydoor", which is next to impossible to remove without downloading something like Adaware.
