Samsung offers the first complete Linux solution for entire line of Laser
Printers

New Drivers Developed with Codehost, Inc. Support a Wider Distribution of
Linux Operating Systems Than Ever Before

San Francisco, CA - Samsung, the worldž²s second largest laser engine
manufacturer, offers the first complete Linux solution for entry-level to
high-end laser printers, developed in partnership with Codehost, Inc.
Samsungž²s award-winning laser printers now support a wide distribution of
Linux operating systems (OS), including Red Hat, Caldera, Debian, Mandrake,
Slackware, SuSE and Turbo Linux. Samsung laser printers will be on display
with Codehost in Booth #1081 at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in San
Francisco, August 13 - 15.

Samsungž²s new Linux drivers are a result of a partnership that Samsung
forged with Los Angeles-based Codehost to develop innovative software
solutions for the companyž²s full line of consumer, SOHO and mid-sized
business laser printers. The Codehost package supports GDI, PCL and
Postscript printing systems and includes custom applications to install,
configure and manage the printers.

ž³As the first company to introduce a complete Linux solution for its entire
line of printers, Samsung is fulfilling its commitment to delivering
state-of-the-art technology at an affordable price,ž´ said Chanel Ož²Connor,
Printer Product Marketing Manager for Samsungž²s Digital Information
Technology Division. ž³This is a tremendous opportunity for Samsung to reach
new users given the increasing popularity of Linux OS.ž´

At LinuxWorld, Samsung will be offering the chance to win a ML-1250 laser
printer. Samsungž²s ML-1250 is a PCL6 printer with a 12 page-per-minute
(ppm) output rate, 1,200 dots-per-inch (dpi) class resolution and 4MB of
standard memory, expandable to 68. It has an estimated street price of
$249.

Samsung offers a full line of monochrome laser printers for home and
business users with output rates ranging from 12 ppm to 21, and with
estimated street prices of $199 to $799. Samsungž²s laser printers
incorporate several cost-saving features, including a unique Toner Save
Button, which extends the life of a toner cartridge by up to 40% when
activated, saving consumers and businesses money through fewer replacement
cartridges. N-up printing mode enables the user to display up to 16 pages
of text on a single sheet, which is ideal for previewing lengthy documents
without wasting large quantities of paper and toner. There is also a
convenient Cancel/Reprint Button that allows you to cancel a print job and
to reprint the last page with the touch of a button.
