When the Red Cross distributes blankets, it doesn't hurt the blanket industry. The Red Cross isn't creating blankets out of thin air: someone had to purchase the blanket in the first place. This is not to say that SCO's argument is valid, merely that this counterargument by analogy isn't an effective one.
