Cool! It's about time KDE's more subtle features get publicized to those not actually developing KDE. Though it would still be nice to get a list of the kioslave protocol handlers that are available, and how to use each.
Just learning about KDE's sftp protocol handler is worth more than the price of admission here, since I use ssh everywhere.
Looking forward to articles on dcop and cervisia/kate.

As mentioned in the dot.kde.org article, Main menu->System->Info Center then select Protocols. It lists them all, and most have a description.
Most of the internet protocols are there, some ioslaves used by applications primarily, but quite a few very useful ones, such as smb, sftp, rdp, etc.
