That's the default, but if you hit F2 at the boot prompt, you get a list of "Cheat codes" (heh) which, among other things, allow you to select other desktop environments/window managers than KDE. Last I looked, it had IceWM, BlackBox, Windowmaker, Enlightenment, and a whole lot more. You can also change language settings and pass in hardware info. Thought you'd want to know.
