Why Run Free Software on a PDA? (O'ReillyNet)

Guylhem Aznar investigates the use of Linux on PDA platforms. "Now that more and more people are familiar with the idea of a GNU/Linux PDA, you may wonder why free software on a PDA may be important to you as a consumer or a manufacturer, and why the choice of a full, free software solution is progressing on the end-user devices market."

Free Software runs on PDAs with non-free OSs, too (like Palm OS)

This is an interesting article, It's worth noting that Open Source Software / Free Software (OSS/FS) runs on PDAs with non-OSS/FS operating systems, too.

For example, there's a large collection of OSS/FS programs for systems running Palm OS. My article David A. Wheeler's Suggestions for PalmOS PDA Users gives some suggestsions for OSS/FS on Palms; this was originally published on Freshmeat.net. It links to sites listing them like Freshmeat.net and Palmopensource.com. In particular, Palm users should definitely install Plucker to view downloaded web sites and books.
