If you buy a house you don't just take the persons word for it that they own it (unless you are stupid). You require them to show evidence that they actually have the rights to sell. The same has to apply here. SCO can show the rights over what they have to sell or get lost! (Like all legal related arguments ask a real lawyer to be sure or don't take the risk)
