Microsoft Customers Save $32 Million By Migrating to Samsung Contact

MICROSOFT CUSTOMERS TO SAVE $32 MILLION BY MIGRATING TO SAMSUNG CONTACT
Scalability, reliability and easy administration found to be key

IT departments can save up to $32 million by migrating their email servers
from Microsoft Exchange to Samsung Contact, according to figures released
today. The saving, which unleashes a huge amount of available spend for IT
departments, enables IT buyers and directors to prove their worth to
business leaders by radically cutting costs whilst maintaining a high
quality messaging and collaboration service.

"It's clear from our research that there are alternatives to Exchange that
cost much less to own and operate," said David Ferris, President of Ferris
Research, an IT analysis company focused on messaging and collaboration.
"IT departments and ASPs who are searching for an alternative should
consider email server software that runs on Unix or Linux-such as Samsung
Contact - even if they plan to provide their endusers with Outlook."

Richi Jennings, chief architect at Samsung Contact said: "We have developed
our technology to the level where it is exceptionally scalable, reliable
and easy to use. This flexibility enables us to dramatically reduce the
total cost of ownership for Samsung Contact. Other server providers,
Microsoft included, have simply not reached the level of technical
sophistication that enables this type of cost saving."

Scalability, 99.999% reliability and easy, flexible administration are the
key contributory factors to Samsung Contact's low total cost of ownership.

Today's release of cost saving figures supports an aggressive advertising
campaign launched by Samsung Contact this week to challenge Microsoft's
Exchange price hikes.

A wealth of expertise and dedication behind Samsung Contact stands the
business in good stead against key competitors. Samsung Contact was
developed following the win of licensing rights to Hewlett-Packard's highly
regarded OpenMail(R) technology. The cream of HP's engineers moved across
with the product, continuing to build the technology for the release of
Samsung Contact 7.1 in March 2002. An upgrade, integrating fully unified
communications functioning, will be available later this year.

Notes to editor:

The above figure is calculated on businesses with 100,000 email users,
amortised over three years. The exact figure is calculated at $32,400,000,
or $324 per user.

The following figures calculate savings for:
1,000 users: $432,000, or $432 per user
10,000 users: $4,680,000,or $468 per user

About Samsung Contact
Samsung Contact is an email server product, offering the lowest total cost
of ownership, extreme scalability and solid reliability to email desktop
clients. Amongst the clients supported is Microsoft Outlook, including the
"collaboration" features (such as shared calendars, delegation and offline
folders) which are otherwise only accessible when using a Microsoft server.
Customers can easily migrate to Samsung Contact from leading email products
such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and HP OpenMail. The product has
been developed following Samsung's win of perpetual licensing rights over
Hewlett-Packard's highly successful OpenMail technology. Investment and
commitment to the roadmap will continue to build on the success of
OpenMail, and expectations are that Samsung Contact will become the market
leader in the field of seamless unified communications. Future development
will also encompass technologies such as J2EE and XML. For more
