To those who read tea leaves better than myself, is this finally a result of Keith Packard's X shakeup?

XFree is an invaluable piece of infrastructure, but even to this day a bit scary to use in my eyes. Hopefully the structural change above will be for the better, not for the worse.

On a related note: Does lwn cover the "Xouvert Traffic" publication? I just discovered that while browsing around, and it seems a worthwhile item to track. I couldn't find anything in the lwn archives (also because lwn's search function insisted that I was not specifying a search term ...)
