The desktop will indeed be interesting this year. The only thing one can
say for sure is the two desktops will still exist at the end of the year,
both substantially better than they are now.

Two things I will watch carefully. What will happen when the desktop
starts to attract commercial attention? I suspect we will see some people
learn hard lessons, others be very good at harnessing the development
juices.

The second is the arrival of desktop database applications. Something to
quickly bang off a way of keeping track of anything.
