I prefer the subscription model. I'll be able to use my company credit card to buy a subscription, but I can't donate with it. While I can't afford anything out of my personal pocket, my company pocket can afford it. Besides, they're the ones benefitting from my Linux knowledge, they should be the ones to pay.

Whether things get delayed or restricted based on who subscribes doesn't matter to me. It's all about the semantics and what I can get past the accountants.
