The word itself means "from Budweiss," a Czech city. There's no way Budweiser could have been copyrighted in Czech, but here in the US they let them get away with it, and the infinitely superior product had to make concessions to the monopolistic imitation. It's simply that bureaucracies are slow to catch up with the international community. Well, it's about 3am and I'm just jumping at the chance to draw corellation between Linux and beer. :)
