Evolution 1.5 (unstable) released (GnomeDesktop)

Version 1.5 (unstable) of Evolution has been released. "Evolution 1.5 has fixed some major architectural issues and sees the splitting out of the addressbook, calendar and task data access into a separate library for other projects to use. Shell components are now much more simplified. We have also untangled the GUI quite a bit making the components (mail, tasks, etc) more individual and improving the usage experience for the user."

I hope 1.5 stops the annoying fact in 1.4, that it requires the server to use UTF-8 for one to use local characters (like danish special characters) in f.ex. your password :(

I asked them to include a setting to tell the client what Char-set to translate to (ie. what charset to expect the server uses, to get around people who do not want to run an UTF-8 system just yet), but they wouldn't hear of it - and as it would be a small thing to do, I'm quite sure they wouldn't accept a patch to do it either :(

That means I'm stuck at the 1.2 series - but perhaps I'm going to have to move to KDE-3.2's kopete instead.
