Red Hat has announced a program which makes its Enterprise Linux services available to staff and students of educational institutions at a reduced price. Enterprise Linux WS subscriptions are available for $25/year, while Advanced Server subscriptions can be had for $50/year.

This was a point of contention a couple of weeks ago when Slashdot ran a Q&A with one of Red Hat's execs. This is a quick response. Kudos to Red Hat.

It would be nice if Redhat also came up with cheaper RHEL solutions for non-profit organisations which have servers currently running older RH versions.
