Aren't these the same guys that fired the whole Slackware development team a while back? I can't say I feel too warm and fuzzy toward them all of a sudden just because they put out a nice press release... frankly I am quite distrustful of their intentions and hope the OSDL will be keeping them under watch.

Do you mean FreeBSD? AFAIK, Wind River wasn't involved with Slackware. But they bought BSDI, merged it with FreeBSD, and then dumped it. Or something like that.

At the time Slackware was residing under the care of the BSDI organization. It
allowed Patrick to pay for two more Slackware developers. About the first thing Wind River did when they took over BSD was drop Slackware, firing the development team, and putting the distribution organisation into chaos. At the time they made some "not interested in Linux" statements.
Fortunately Slackware not only survived but seems to have flourished away from their attentions.

Yes, they are. They're also the same Wind River that SCO claims is supporting their position on the current SCO-vs-Linux BS that SCO is spewing. I'd love to hear what OSDL has to say about this....

Why would windriver support SCO? Especially with them acting as if they are linux friendly...
