2.6 Pre-Release2.6 Pre-ReleasePosted Nov 24, 2003 17:33 UTC (Mon) by ebresie (guest, #13090)Parent article: 2.6 patch policy Okay...I'm sure there is some post in the lk mailing list somewhere, but why don't instead of release it as 2.6.0 they do a 2.6.0-pre release instead and then do all the stabalizing things that normally go in the early 2.6.[1-5] releases in the pre-release. I imagine the intest of the 2.6.0-test releases was intended to fill this concern, but then anyone of the 2.5.x releases should be classified as a "test" release. But then again...this may all be a matter of symantics.
